SIPCA Members,
On behalf of the Executive Board, I would like to welcome you to the Southern Illinois Police Chiefs Association website. Our organization is made up of dedicated men and women who serve as leaders within the law enforcement communities of Southern Illinois.
The purpose of SIPCA is to provide an opportunity for the Law Enforcement Executives in Southern Illinois to exchange information, foster cooperation and devise the means for planning and promoting programs and ideas for more effective policing throughout the region. Whether you have been in this profession for decades or just getting started we all need someone to lean on for trusted guidance or an ear for listening. As an organization, SIPCA brings us all together to build these relationships and empower us to accomplish things we could never do alone.
Our goals as an organization for the upcoming year will continue to be much the same. First, we want to continue to grow our membership. We can do this through committing to reaching out to neighboring Chiefs of Police and bringing on fellow members of our command staff. In doing so we will strengthen our voice as an organization and help develop future leaders of our departments and the profession.
Secondly, we want to continue to support our scholarship program and other charitable organizations we have identified such as Special Olympics, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Do the Right Thing and BackStoppers. By supporting these efforts, we support the youth in our communities and fellow law enforcement professionals and their families.
Finally, we will continue to work with the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police to monitor and influence the Illinois political process. As law enforcement leaders we must do our part to ensure that our legislature enacts laws that provide for the safety and welfare of the communities we serve.
While there have always been challenges in law enforcement the last five years have been particularly challenging. Nonetheless we must continue to push forward for our personnel, and the citizens we serve. As an organization we can work together to navigate what the future holds for all of us and do our part to provide a safer community for everyone.
On behalf of the Board of Officers, Brad Wells, Jarrett Ford and Nick Novacich, we wish to thank you for all you do. The board remains committed to moving our organization forward, and we look forward to working with you to promote and improve law enforcement in our region.
Sincerely,
Chief Mike Fillback
2026 SIPCA President
